Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant: Installs Steam Drum for Unit 2
On 18 May 2015, in Thai Binh province, PVC – EPC Contractor organised the groundbreaking ceremony for installing Steam Drum for Unit 2 of Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant Project. Leaders of PVN PMB, EPC Contractor (PVC) and subcontractor LILAMA participated in the ceremony.
Steam Drum for Unit 2 has a size of 32m long, diameter of 2.1m, weight of 320 tonnes and will be lifted to the height of 74m. This is manufactured and supplied by Babcock & Wilcox (BWBC) who is subcontractor of SDC Consortium.
As of May 2015, the overall progress of the Project gained 54.6% with completion of installation of: 5,937/6,888 tonnes of steel structure for the Boiler 1; 1,755/5,013 tonnes of steel structure for the pressure pipe; 4,918/6,888 tonnes of steel structure for the Boiler 2; 2,636/9,800 tonnes of steel structure for the Turbine building. Main items of the pilling work, foundation work in the area of Power Island has basically been completed. The Boiler of the Unit 1 is scheduled to test the pressure by the early February 2016.
